چکیده

Based on the two most recent assessments of Chinese higher plants in 2013 and 2020, 34,450 39,330 species, respectively, we analysed threatened status plants. In around 4,088 (10.39%) assessed species China are threatened, 2,875 (7.31%) Near Threatened, 27,593 (70.16%) not currently categorised as Least Concern 4,752 (12.08%) Data Deficient. While 2013, 3,767 (10.93%) 2,723 (7.90%) 24,296 (70.53%) 3,612 (10.48%) Estimates Red List Index years show different patterns when using weighting methods with equal steps method showing a slight decrease (0.91675–0.91495) extinction risk increase (0.98792–0.98797). We inferred that China’s plant were likely / relatively effectively protected. However, attention should also be given to non-threatened future an additional strategy for their conservation, maintain status.

The sampled Red List Index for plants, phase II: ground-truthing specimen-based conservation assessments.

The IUCN Sampled Red List Index (SRLI) is a policy response by biodiversity scientists to the need to estimate trends in extinction risk of the world's diminishing biological diversity. Assessments of plant species for the SRLI project rely predominantly on herbarium specimen data from natural history collections, in the overwhelming absence of accurate population data or detailed distribution ...

red - an R package to facilitate species red list assessments according to the IUCN criteria

The International Union for the Conservation of Nature Red List is the most useful database of species that are at risk of extinction worldwide, as it relies on a number of objective criteria and is now widely adopted. The R package red - IUCN Redlisting Tools - performs a number of spatial analyses based on either observed occurrences or estimated ranges. Functions include calculating Extent o...

Green Plants in the Red: A Baseline Global Assessment for the IUCN Sampled Red List Index for Plants

Plants provide fundamental support systems for life on Earth and are the basis for all terrestrial ecosystems; a decline in plant diversity will be detrimental to all other groups of organisms including humans. Decline in plant diversity has been hard to quantify, due to the huge numbers of known and yet to be discovered species and the lack of an adequate baseline assessment of extinction risk...

Supporting Red List threat assessments with GeoCAT: geospatial conservation assessment tool

GeoCAT is an open source, browser based tool that performs rapid geospatial analysis to ease the process of Red Listing taxa. Developed to utilise spatially referenced primary occurrence data, the analysis focuses on two aspects of the geographic range of a taxon: the extent of occurrence (EOO) and the area of occupancy (AOO). These metrics form part of the IUCN Red List categories and criteria...
